THE TESTIMONY chronicles the largest rape trial in the history of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, offering a glimpse into the lives of its women and the unshakable strength of the human spirit. First time filmmaker Director Vanessa Block decided to travel to one of the most dangerous places on earth to tell the story of young women who fight back against their brutalization by largely unaccountable social and political institutions. Block’s determination to tell their story results in an illuminating and hopeful documentary.
